Welcome to
The Buccaneer Aviation Group
Preserving history and memories of the Blackburn Buccaneer.
Who are we and what do we do?
The Buccaneer Aviation Group, also known as TBAG, is a UK-based not-for-profit organisation located at Cotswold Airport (formerly RAF Kemble), in Gloucestershire.
TBAG is a group of volunteers dedicated to the preservation of the low-level nuclear bomber – Blackburn/Hawker Siddeley Buccaneer. The group currently preserves two ex-Royal Air Force Buccaneers, XX894 & XW544, and has done so since 2004. After huge restoration efforts, both aircraft are now back in fully operational condition, to honour the service of the air and ground crews, the people who built them, and the memories associated with the type, and to help inspire future generations to continue preserving the mighty Buccaneer.
Not only does TBAG maintain two fully serviceable Buccaneers, but is also the only group in the world that is entirely dedicated to the aircraft type. Providing assistance and support to Buccaneers, both complete and cockpit sections across the globe.
Can you visit TBAG?
Due to the group’s operation being located airside, public access is limited. However, the group holds a number of small and big events every year, consisting of fast taxi demonstrations, static engine runs, photography days/evenings, and more. These events allow you close access to the aircraft, allowing you to get personal with two fully functional Buccaneers and the skilled and dedicated team behind them.
We are always adding new events to the calendar so please keep an eye out on the website here.
How can I support TBAG?
There are several ways of supporting the Buccaneers, and the groups aim to preserve them for years to come.
Take a look at our supporters club, Buccaneer Buddies. An exclusive club with a variety of Buccaneer-related rewards and opportunities, such as free gifts, a private event, and a bi-annual magazine.
We also have a shop containing wide range of exclusive Buccaneer-related merchandise, where you can also donate to the group if you wish.
TBAG’s travelling exhibit.
The group also preserves the cockpit section of Buccaneer XW550, which has become TBAG’s traveling exhibit to help promote the group’s activities across the UK, attending events such as Cockpit-fest and the Royal International Air Tattoo.
If you ever see us out and about, please drop by and say hello, experience a guided cockpit tour by one of our knowledgeable volunteers, and even take a browse around our shop.
